August, 18 is planned a meeting ministers of defense of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania tomorrow will travel to Azerbaijan. During the visit will be held a trilateral meeting of the defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

According to the statement of Alasaniya, this meeting was preparing for a long time with the initiative of the Georgian side last year. As the head of the Defense Ministry of Georgia noted, it will be the first formal meeting of the three ministers.

According to him, the meeting and the subsequent clearance of the agreement will be focused on the planning of actions by three countries aimed to the protection of the communications infrastructure, in particular, oil and gas pipelines and railways in a critical situation, in case if there is a military escalation. As emphasized Alasaniya, it is not a step against anyone. "On the contrary such agreements provide additional support for regional stability", - concluded Alasania.

Planned to organize Georgian-Azerbaijan AGROFORUM

Azerbaijan intends to learn the experience of Georgia in the field of agriculture. This was stated by representatives of Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan delegation at a meeting with the head of the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture Otar Daneliya, as it was reported.

The Georgian side briefed the guests on projects that have been implemented in the country in recent years to develop the agricultural sector.

The parties also discussed the projects that are being implemented in Azerbaijan irrigation system, introduction of new technologies, and the purchase of European equipment for the agricultural sector. The Georgian side has taken a special interest in the experience of Azerbaijan in the field of agricultural leasing.

"For us it is very important to listen to our neighbors, who have ten years of experience in the field of agricultural leasing, and their opinion is very interesting for me. I think that we will be able to organize Agroforum with participation of Azerbaijani and Georgian businessmen. Such form of communication will give us the opportunity to learn from each other" - said the Georgian minister.

At the meeting Daneliya spoke about the new challenges that are associated with the signing of Georgia association agreement with the EU. He stressed, that in this regard Georgia introduced new approaches and standards.

Batumi hosted international forum "The Congress of the European Economic Senate".

At the initiative of the European Economic Senate, in Batumi hotel "Sheraton" was held an international forum "The Congress of the European Economic Senate."

European Economic Senate (EES) is the coordinating center, the organization of European business, whose members include the heads of large companies and the policies of the European Union. The President of the EES is the Vice President of European Parliament Ingo Friedrich.

Congress in Batumi was attended by the Executive Director of the EES, the senators, the chairman of the Union of large taxpayers of Europe, members of the European Parliament and European investors. From the Georgian side the event was attended by businessmen and government officials who addressed the participants of the congress with a speech.

During the event, representatives of the Georgian and European business held bilateral meetings.

At the congress was emphasized the intensification and simplification of the Georgian-European trade relations, attracting European investment to Georgia, the introduction in Georgia European business standards and ways to promote the interests of the Georgian business in Europe. During the event, were presentations of several projects that are of interest of European investors.

Organizer of the congress is "The Business Club of Georgia", which was founded in 2014 and already includes several large business companies. Co-organizers of the event are the Chamber of Commerce of Georgia and the National Investment Agency.

Announced tender for construction of the port Anakliya

The Georgian government, through the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, invites local and international companies to take part in the competition for expression of interest for the construction of a new multi-function port Anakliya (Western Georgia), was said in the press service of the Georgian prime minister.

According to information, by the order of the Georgian government was set up a commission for reviewing the applications for participation in the competition for the expression of interest, which is headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.

This decision was preceded a research made by partner funds of Georgia in order to choose the best location for the port. As a result of the 10 locations, located on the Black Sea coast between Inguri and Chorokhi, priority was given to Anaklia, as compared to alternative locations; dock has the prospect of expansion and development, as well as good access to the deep sea canyon.

Georgian Prime Minister said that the location of Anakliya differs with competitive advantages and called the construction of infrastructure project on this scale the most important for the country. According to him, the port Anakliya will raise the transit potential of the country to a new level.

We recall that the issue of Anakliya port development and tight-fitting area was discussed in February 2014 at a meeting of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili with the president of the American investment holding "Conti Group" Kurt Conti, during which "Conti Group" presented a three-phase project of port building, with the throughput capacity of 100 million tons.

"According to preliminary calculations, besides a port in Anaklia is expected to develop a logistics and industrial zone, construction of an international airport and a liquefied natural gas terminal", - according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, noting that "Conti Group" has 100 years of experience in the management of similar projects .

Unique archaeological finds are discovered in Mtskheta

Unique archaeological finds were discovered on Pikris Gora (mountain) in the town of Mtskheta (the ancient capital of Georgia, located near Tbilisi) during construction works on private site in the territory of old graves, according to the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.

By law, the construction works has been suspended and for the archaeologists began investigations who work on the Pikris Gora (mountain) since the end of July - when finds were discovered. In the study area they have discovered and studied early medieval burial, among them - five kinds of burials.

"In places of burials were found gold rings, hooks for clothes and a gold coin of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine VIII (1025-1028), that confirms that the citizens of Mtskheta were buried in the burial ground of Pikris Gora (mountain) not only in the IV-VI centuries, but also in the Middle Ages "- is said on the official website of the department.

In addition to coins and gold ornaments were also found other items - fasteners, brooches, storage vessels and incense made from different materials rings and beads.

"On Pikris Gora (mountain) in Mtskheta were found family and individual graves, and the majority of the dead were buried according to Christian rules", - is said in the announcement. At the same time it is indicated that founded items during archaeological excavations are similar to those that have been found previously at different times in the examinations of other ancient burial places in Mtskheta.

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, together with the National Agency for Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia will consider that findings were given the status of "moving monuments".

Georgian delegation is sent to the UN General Assembly

Today in New York for the UN General Assembly was sent a delegation of the Academy of Diplomacy and politics of Georgia.

UN Assembly is the biggest event of the year, which is held in the general headquarters and is presented delegations from all member countries of the UN.

In the General Assembly by a special invitation are attended by representatives of international organizations, politicians and academics who develop resolutions and major policies in various fields. The Georgian side the delegation includes officials from the public sector and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

In Georgia, the delegation consists of the Academy of Diplomacy and the policy of Georgia on the basis of the official exclusive rights of the United Nations.

By the statement of the founder of the Academy, Teona Lavrelashvili: "It is encouraging that the UN delegation will be attended by Georgia in a big staff that actively will participate in all sessions and meetings. We intend to emphasize the issue of Georgia's territorial integrity and to demonstrate once again the international partners that the integrity of Georgia is going vital for our generation".

Diplomatic mission in the United States will continue for 10 days, and delegation will be received in Washington, the White House and the State Department, where will be scheduled plans for future cooperation.
