As President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili announced today at his meeting with people in Ozurgeti, on October 1st, the freedom and the future of Georgia will be determined, rather than the future of the government.

The President of Georgia and the NATO Secretary General held a joint press conference

Thank you, good afternoon Mr. President. It’s really a pleasure to meet with you once again, here at the NATO Summit in Chicago. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your country on all of the progress you have made, and the fact that Georgia has been the only partner country to participate in all three partner events in this summit, is testimony to the very special relationship between Georgia and NATO. We wanted to acknowledge that Georgia is one of the major contributors to our operation in Afghanistan.


Mikheil Saakashvili held bilateral meetings with the President of Bulgaria and the Prime Minister of Denmark

The President of Georgia held a bilateral meeting with the President of Bulgaria Rosen Pnevneliev and the Prime Minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt. Deepening relations among the countries and issues of Euro-integration of Georgia were among the most important topics of discussion. According to Rosen Plevneliev, Bulgaria supports Georgia’s NATO aspiration and welcomes the efforts of the country in terms of implementing democratic reforms.


The President of Georgia participated in working of the NATO Summit

The President of Georgia, who is currently attending the NATO Summit in Chicago as a result of an invitation by the NATO Secretary General, took part in the working of the summit. Georgia was represented in meetings of every format during a two day summit, including the meetings of the ISAF format with the countries participating in the ISAF mission (28+ISAF); also in the meetings of the future NATO members (28+4) and meetings with main partners (28+13) during which Georgia was the only country from Eastern Europe. Georgia attended the meeting of the ISAF format for the first time this year, where up to 60 ISAF partner country leaders participated.


The President of Georgia toured the rehabilitated hospital of Tsageri

The President of Georgia visited the Tsageri rehabilitated medical center today. After touring the clinic, Mikheil Saakashvili visited patients and talked to the medical personnel. The Head of State expressed interest in the health conditions of the patients as well as the general conditions at the clinic. 


Mikheil Saakashvili opened construction of the Kutaisi detour road

The President of Georgia laid a cornerstone at the construction of a new infrastructural project – the Kutaisi detour road. Mikheil Saakashvili arrived on site with the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure while symbolically creating the first trench by a tractor.

The Committee on Agrarian Issues considered with the first reading the amendments that shall be introduced to the draft law on "Joint-Stock Company- the Partnership Fund” which regulates the objectives of the Partnership Fund and its governing structure.

The Chairman of the Parliament continues meetings with the population of the regions of Georgia. Today, in the city square, David Bakradze met with the local residents of Zestaponi and took personal interest in their problems.


“Abkhazeti № 1" School of Arts performed a debut theatric concert

Supported by the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and Tbilisi City Hall, "Abkhazeti № 1" School of Arts and the opera song house performed a debut theatric concert "Mozartiana" in the State Conservatoire small concert hall. Such concert was performed for the first time. The pupils and teachers with chamber orchestra took part in it.


The President of Georgia toured the newly-built clinic in Tetri Tskaro

The President of Georgia toured the Tetri Tskaro multi-profile hospital, which is newly-built within the scope of the hospital sector development program. Mikheil Saakashvili visited the newborns at the clinic and brought them presents. He also expressed interest in the hospital conditions and spoke with the medical personnel.
