Parliamentary Forum Georgia-Moldova-Ukraine on "Tripartite inter-parliamentary cooperation, new approaches among the countries members of the" Eastern Partnership "and the association agreement (with the EU)", started in Tbilisi on Monday, May 4,informs the press service of the legislature.


The two-day forum opened in the Georgian parliament on the initiative of the European Integration Committee and with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.


" Sides taking participation in the forum will discuss the following issues: new mechanisms of expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the three countries, the Parliamentary Assembly Euronest – if it meets or not the format of the challenges of the Member States format, needs of the regulation and diversification", - said in a statement.


At the end of the Forum country's participants of "Eastern Partnership" and the Association Agreement with the European Union will be held a signing ceremony of the joint declaration on the initiative of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri during his official visit to Germany will meet with his German counterpart Thomas de Maiziere and president of the Federal Criminal Police Holger Munch.

Pentagon chief left Georgia

Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia will hold joint military exercises; this agreement was reached at a meeting of defense ministers of the three countries in Nahchivan. This was announced on Tuesday by the head of the defense department of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov.

The minister said that the objective of the exercise is to increase the military efficiency of the armed forces.

During of Nakhchivan meeting of the defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia - Zakir Hasanov, Ismet Yilmaz and Iraklii Alasania also agreed to hold meetings in this format twice a year, the organization of joint seminars and conferences, creating of trilateral format in military education and cooperation in the military technical sphere, said Hasanov.

The minister said that it is planned to organize meetings of experts to explore promising areas of cooperation.

The defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia have also discussed the military-political situation in the region, had an exchange of views on issues of security and restore stability in the region.
