Georgia 26 v Namibia 18

{mospagebreak}In the second match of the tournament the two RWC 07 qualifiers have produced an entertaining match, in which endeavour and enthusiasm made up for the missing skill and flair. It was Georgia, the more physical of the two teams who won in the end, thanks to their superior match fitness and of course, speed wide out.

Unbeaten Turkey progress in style

Turkey's hopes of reaching the UEFA European Under-19 Championship were ended despite a late goal from Kadir Keles that salvaged a draw against Georgia in the final round of fixtures in Elite round Group 4.
Tolunay Kafkas's side started their third and final game in the mini-tournament with three points, one behind section leaders Portugal. In the event the Iberian team's 4-2 win against section hosts and 2006 finalists Scotland ended Turkish hopes, although Keles struck in the final minute of normal time to cancel out Rati Tsinamdzgvrishvili's 79th-minute opener for Georgia, who had taken the lead despite losing Beka Gotsiridze to a red card four minutes before half-time. Turkey, who had hoped to add this crown to the U17 title won by this generation in 2005, therefore finished in second place with four points, two places and two points above Georgia.

Defences on top in Perth

Georgia and Portugal made a steady start to UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite round with a goalless draw in their opening fixture in Perth. Both sides will therefore have something to build on in their second fixtures.

Shota makes it advantage AZ

AZ took the lead in the second minute through Simon Cziommer at the DSB-Stadium only for Wesley Sneijder to equalise for visiting Ajax eleven minutes later. It looked liked the sides would have to settle for a draw ahead of next Sunday's return at the Amsterdam ArenA when Georgia striker Arveladze popped up to score his 15th league goal of the season at the death.
